My journey to wellness.
At a young age, I developed an awareness that eating healthy, exercising regularly, and sleeping well contributed to me feeling strong and performing at my peak. I also learned the more positive energy I put out into the world, the more it came back to me. As I reflect on my wellness journey three significant milestones standout.
Shifting Priorities
After college, I pursued a career in corporate America. While initially exciting, I came to realize the high level of stress, long hours, and grueling international travel proved taxing. After several years immersed in work, my husband and I started a family. I stepped away from my professional career to focus full-time on raising our three kids.
Over time the demands of daily life caught up with me. As I reprioritized self care, I created a healthier life for me and my family.
Overcoming Disease
I contracted Lyme disease in my early 40s. I worked with Western medicine doctors who were unsuccessful over the course of 2 years in properly diagnosing my symptoms.
I took it upon myself to explore alternative solutions. I discovered an integrative medicine specialist who combined Eastern and Western modalities. When I adopted the principles of Functional Medicine, I got back to feeling better than I had in years.
Finding Purpose
I’ve reaped the benefits of Functional Medicine all my life, I just didn’t know it was called Functional Medicine. Any time I felt ill or less than 100%, I felt better when I focused on diet, exercise, and self care.
I’ve always been passionate about health and helping others. It is my life's purpose. And now, coming from a place of positivity and good health, I followed my inner calling by becoming a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach. I’d like to share that knowledge and experience with you. Better health is indeed achievable.
You’re worthy. Let’s talk.
